(54) Title: DEVICE FOR PRODUCING
THE Three-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE OF A SINGLE TWO-DIMENSIONAL image
Fig.1
Fig.2
(57) Abstract: The inventive device for producing the free-dimensional
image of a single two-dimensional feature comprises a lens raster embodied
in such a way that the single two-dimensional feature whose image is to
be produced can be disposed at a distance (A) from a picture plane. The
lenses of said raster have a variable radius of curvature on sagittal
and meridian sections. The raster comprises two and more (n) alternating
lenses having focal lengths of f1, f2, ...,fn. Said lenses are disposed
on the same level of main planes. Spaces D between lenses of the raster
are comparable with the dimensions of the image resolution element of
the single two-dimensional feature, the focal length f1=A, the focal lengths
f2...,fn<A.

DEVICE GENERATING THREE-DIMENSIONAL
IMAGE
OF A SINGLE TWO-DIMENSIONAL ENTITY
Technique Field
The invention is attributed to the sphere of optics, and to be more
accurate, it pertains to the device generating three-dimensional image
of entities.
The Previous State of the Arts
The device generating three-dimensional image of entities has been known,
which contains the following components:
a device for arrangement of the image source and a lens raster with lenses,
which have variable curvature radius in saggital section (See Patent of
the Russian Federation No. 2098855 ?1 dated 05.10.95). This device gives
the opportunity to obtain three-dimensional image on the principle of
quasi-stereo mates formation. In this description saggital section means
horizontal section.
Disadvantage of this device is impossibility to form three-dimensional
image in front of the screen because the mechanism of image formation
envisages only virtual image behind the screen, and the real part of image
in front of the screen lacks.
The device generating three-dimensional image of entities with a source
of image and optical lens rasters, the main and the accessory one, high-aperture
in meridian section, and at that focal plane of the accessory raster is
located in the vicinity of the image generated by the main raster (See
Application for Patent of the Russian Federation No. 98115465/28 dated
10.08.98). In this description meridian section means vertical section.
This device gives the opportunity to obtain three-dimensional image with
outcome before the screen, but due to the lack of variable focal power
of raster in saggital section the image in horizontal section has scale
constancy, which is unnatural for real three-dimensional image (lack of
quasi-parallax).
Besides, moiré may appear in the watched image due to the existence
of two linear structures located close to each other.
The device generating three-dimensional image of entities containing the
means for arrangement of the image source and optical lens raster with
lenses, which in saggital and in meridian section are made with variable
curvature radius, this raster being placed within the certain distance
from the image source (See Application for Patent of the Russian Federation
No. 98108927/28 dated 07.05.98) is the most similar to the device proposed
herein.
